We celebrated by going to Pirate Island Pizza. That was Shane's choice. We ate pizza, played games, and opened presents. Thanks to my family, my mom, Aunt Melissa, Uncle Paul, Cassie, & Braden for coming!

Ok, off we went last weekend (Memorial Day weekend) to the best place on earth....that we know of any way. JACOB'S LAKE - Kaibab Mountian, AZ. We had such a blast and it was so great to finally go camping again this year. Each year gets easier and easier, and much more relaxing for me. The boys are growing up fast and don't depend on me so much. (Kinda sad in some ways!) We always have great company...including the bugs! Ha Ha! Here are some pictures that Desi took.....my camera has officially bit the dust

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we went out to Sand Hallow Sand Dunes for our Thanksgiving festivities. We camped in the new campground. Took our Rhino and went dune-ing. Now that's the life and I am sure thankful that we are still able to enjoy these great times with awesome people. With some great friends and our family we made the most delish Turkey dinner! There was a dutch oven turkey that fell off the the bone, stuffing, sweet potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole, mashed pototes and gravey, and pumpkin pie. You get it, the most basic dinner, but we did it all out in the sand.

The days there were 1 day beautiful, the 2nd day great till 1 and then the wind picked up. Not just a little wind, my a major wind....the sand was blowing. It didn't stop blowing all night long, and in the morning we packed up and came home. Guess what? The wind wasn't blowing at home! "One, two, three....throw me dad!" - Shane jumping down a sand dune!

Halloween 2009

Ok, so a month behind isn't all that bad is it? Shane and Kody had a great time trick or treating with our great friends, the Browns. We got lots of candy and Kody still got the free ride of a stroller. I don't think we would have made it around the circle if it wasn't for it. But i have officially retired that old thing. It's put up and away. Say good bye Kody! Candy, candy, candy....that is all i hear for about a month. I have finally thrown it all away. Phew!

We headed out again to Jacob Lake last weekend. It is so beautiful and cool compared to the HOT days we have been having here in St. George. It is August already, and the hot days are soon to be over...I hope! I am sure thankful for being able to continue our trips this summer. It is one thing that keeps me going I think. My two boys are great and they sure do get along most of the time...the other part of the time you can just hear the two of them screaming at the top of their lungs to get away from each other. Since it was so cool up there this weekend we got to see much more wildlife than we have yet this year. We saw some big buck, doe, the "white" tailed squirrel, and beautiful blue birds. Lots and lots of hoppers too!

With summer just getting here....poof....school starts in 2 weeks! Where in the world did the time go? Our trampoline has gotten the most use out of it this summer. We still haven't put it out on the grass to let the kids jump on the sprinklers. Here Shane is jumping away.

Look who's TwO!

Kody turns TwO!

Kody had a wonderful little birthday party on Saturday. He really enjoyed himself and the friends and family that came to eat cake. I really think for once it was all about KODY and he really loved the attention. He was awesome at unwrapping his gifts. He got Lincoln Logs from Aunt Shareen and Papa Scott! A bike helmet and bath toys from Auntie M, Cassie, and Braden! New clothes, shoes & socks, a toy truck & trailer w/ a four wheeler, and horses from mom & dad and brother Shane. Gramma Bonnie and Gramma RaNae/Grampa DeVon were also there for the fun. Thanks everyone for making it a special day for KoDY!

Bloomington Caves

It was off to find the Bloomington Caves for our Sunday Rhino adventures. We had gone two weekends ago, and got off Geo Caching and missed our turn. We did lots of treasure hunts so we didn't miss the caves that weekend. This one was fun too. I have combined pictures from both trips since I am having such a hard time posting.
The caves were pretty neat! We all went down to see what it was all about. It was pretty humid once you went down below and it really opened up a bunch. It was a tight squeeze to get in and felt a little hard to breath.
We sure wish we were better equipped with BRIGHTER flash lights. It was really dark once we got all the way in. On the ceiling had drops of water dripping. Shane said he was a "little" scared. Kody just was wide eyed the whole time, saying "hold you".
It was a little like walking crouched over. The ceilings were a little low. There were not too many places that you could stand tall. Shane could though! :)
See, Shane still crouched over even though he was sitting down. We had so much fun!

I am so BIG! Next weekend I will be TWO!

Great foodies (lunch), fun hikes, lots of smiles, a happy snow woman or Josh anyway, treasure rocks, and lots of dirt! Kevin and Josh were like little boys in Grade school while in the caves. I can't wait for warmer weather, but it sure is nice to live where we do.

Diamond Valley Rhino Ride II

It's like a NEW tradition I would have to say. It doesn't really matter what day it is as long as we have the time to do it. But lately we are lovin' every minute of it. Riding with a group of great people; friends and family, it's awesome! Today we took a trip to Diamond Valley and hit the other side of the valley on Blake & Gubler Road. This one took us up towards Pine Mountian. We saw some of the leaves changing bright reds and yellows, but most of the trees where we went were burned from the big fire that was up there 2 or 3 years ago. We all took turns shooting guns, searching for geo caches (8-10 new ones I think), and kicking back and having some clean air blowing through our hair with a little dust too. Below are some of our pictures of the day.
This is Flunky Cabin. I have no idea when it was built, but there wasn't much left of it to say the least.

Diamond Valley Rhino Trip

Ok, so today we were lookin' for some fun on a Sunday. We loaded up early, drug the kids out of bed and headed for Diamond Valley where my mom & dad live. It's a little cooler up there (about 10 degrees) but everyone of those degrees helps, right? You BET! I didn't get a lot of pictures, but it was an ok trip. The weather was warm, but not hot, and the group of us was awesome. Mom & dad took their four wheeler, Josh & Nikki w/ their Rhino, Scott & Shareen w/ their Rhino, and Desi rented on with her Gramma Norma. It was fun and always is a great time with everyone. We packed up lunches and ate while we are on our trip. With a flat tire on Josh's Rhino we still have fun. They limped it back, having to air up every so often. We even did a couple geo caches! Now we have another 34 miles to add to our trips! Below are some of the pictures of the day....A beautiful canyon on the back way from Diamond Valley towards Silver Reef.

This was a pretty neat signature rock. We didn't stay long enough to do our name!

This picture of Kody is by one of the geo caches that we found. It's clue was wash your hands and then use the air dryer to dry them off. Not too far away was a water pipe that actually blew air out of it sticking out of the ground. Below is Shane pulling out the treasure.

Jacob Lake Labor Day

We took a camping trip over Labor Day weekend to Jacob Lake. It was a blast and a great get away. When can you ever pass up a trip away from home, doing the things we love; camping, Rhino'ing, spending time with family and friends. The Holt family (Scott, Shareen, Desi, Josh & Nikki), my parents, and my sister and her two kids joined us as well. We stayed at full hook up camping place and it has really tall pine trees. We had two days of raining days, and took a quick trip to the Grand Canyon. It was nice to see the "Big hole in the ground" as Braden liked to call it. But the cloud cover didn't really show the beauty of it all. We will have to take a trip back to explore that again!
Shane was the only BRAVE one of our famiily to climb to the top of this Look Out Tower. It was 80 Feet high and he went up with Papa Scott. I tried to climb up, but couldn't get past the woobling of the stairs as I was going up. Not to mention, I think I am a little afraid of hights. Kevin is worse then me of heights, but I had no idea that I would be effected too! He didn't even try!

This is on their way up to the tippy top. The picture above I think is Shane's head. Desi and Josh & Nikki made it too. Shane thought it was soo cool, but once he was on the ground he looked a little pale.

Duck, Duck, Duck....Goose

On Sunday we took a trip to go feed the ducks. Desi gave me the great idea. Before Kody was born Shane and would go at least once a week and Kody has been missing out of the fun. This was his 1st time visiting the ducks. I thought for sure he would be afraid of them. Shane sure was at his age. With time Shane has gotten a little less afraid of them, but Kody was chasing them while Shane was waiting back by the bench only to make sure they didn't get too close.

What an amazing man I have in my life. The roots of our family. Kevin works hard to make our life fun, exciting, and does everything for us! And take a look at my boyz! Just too too cute!

Shane's 5th Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Shane. I hope you have a fun birthday party at Hidden Valley Water Park! You had lots of friends and family show up and played hard in the water and slides. The weather even turned out to be pretty nice even though the rain clouds looked like it was going to make it a rainey day! Shane would like to say "THANKS" to everyone!

We have a Kindergartener!

Today was Shane's 1st day of Kindergarten at Bloomington Hills Elementry! The Home of the BOBCATS! He was so excited to go that he wanted me to drop him off before he went to daycare even though he would have to wait for the rest of the kids for over an hour. His school is just around the corner from our house and it was almost torture for him to not be able to walk with the neighbor kids. I have to be to work at 8:00 and school doesn't start until 8:50. Instead of walking or riding the bus like most kids get to do, he gets to go in the daycare van every morning.

He sported a new Batman backpack, new shoes, new hair cut, and a new outfit. Even though his backpack was empty, we wore it proudly. HE'S A BIG KID NOW! :)

Beaver Mountain Camping!

Here's to our 1st "real" camping trip of the year. Beaver Mountain you will not be forgotten! We love this place and have been coming up here since Shane was born. It's so nice to get out of the heat and some nights freeze our butts off. I'm not kidding. It cools right down and you have to pull the ole' woolies out. We have never had a trip that it doesn't rain and this trip was not any different. On our last Rhino ride, it was nice and sunny. We made it to the little canyon where the beavers make their home on a little beaver dam. There is a little creek that runs through the canyon and it's SO pretty. Had lunch very quickly, cause the rain clouds were a coming! We rode back to camp as quickly as possible, three kids in the back (Shane, Diva, and Kamryn) and Kevin and I in the front (I was holding Kody). Kody, the little bugger he is, fell asleep not 5 minutes after we headed back. It's a very bumpy up hill ride. He didn't wake up even after it started to pour down the rain. It was sooo cold and we here getting very wet. I think Kody had all the extra jackets and blankets wrapped around him...he stayed dry.

Newest Project

Can you tell what we are doing? It looks like a bathroom, maybe. I should have taken before pictures so you could have seen what we were up against, but instead you get demolition pictures (DURING) the 1st phase of remodling our master bathroom! Yikes, crazy, and what a mess! It's too hot outside, so Kevin has moved into the house out of the heat, so we are finally doing inside projects. It was much needed, but this is going to take forever. Both of the kids have either helped or Kody slept through the sawing, pounding, and banging so we could get some work done this weekend. When we are finished we will have removed 2 walls, opened the 3 rooms (walk-in closet, toilet and shower, and vanity/sink) to make one big room! We are going to put in an extra large shower, and two sink vanity. It will be so nice and much to look forward to. I have been using the boys shower since we moved here almost six years ago and it will be so nice to have my own room even if I have to share with Kevin. When we finish, or maybe some more pictures to come, but I will post them later.

Keep counting.....The pictures say all. Kody had some fun while I was going to the bathroom! I guess he thought that he needed his bum changed too and helped himself to a brand new box of (you guessed it) WIPES! He can climb, he can pull up, he can push things over to step on what ever it is he thinks he needs to climb on. He is truly a monkey with a capital M. New words this week are UP, outside, bubbles, here, bite, and truck (that is everything w/ wheels).

Summer Time Fun!

This say it all! FUN! WET! HOT! MUSCLES! SMILES! Just look at their faces. We had a blast yesterday with some good ole' sunning by the pool. This little orange $4 (Wal-Mart) pool has been an awesome addition to our summer time fun. We even found a slip-n-slide too. Kamryn and Diva (a couple of Shane's friends) came over and had some fun too. Andi and I relaxed (Andi did anyway). If anyone knows me, relax is not something I have found myself to do. It will come some day, maybe after my two non-stop boys settle down. Do they ever settle down?

Gramma & Gampa Dennison

We spent a little bit at Grandma & Grandpa Dennisons over the weekend. Shane got to meet the new kitty, Socks, while we were there. What a nice little kitty. Kody says "Hi" to all animals, but kept saying "HI, itty HI!" Kevin helped his dad load a big tree stump into a truck to take it away. Tractor WORK!

Shane got to climb the BIG tree that is still left in the yard. He had a blast.

While we were there, we meet with the chickens. I think there are 10 hens and 1 big Rooster. Both the boys liked watching them and Grandpa even let Shane throw scratch (chicken food) into their coop. Kody can cock-a-doodle-do! Can you?

Tonight we spent some time out side with Kevin while he was working on his latest project of building an addition to our shed in the back yard. We have cleaned up and around the house, moved things around, and now need some room to store all the stuff! We will put our lawn mower, kids outside ride 'em toys (4 wheeler, truck, & rhino) underneath it. What a relief. All these things are not cheap things and they are just getting weathered.

Shane helped hand up some nails to his dad! What a little helper he is.

PKody is a great helper too! He likes climbing up on things now.

I don't know if you want to call it being brave or just not wanting to clean
up a mess, but today was the 1st day for Kody to eat on his own. Like a
BiG boY! What did he eat, you ask? Well, he had a bowl of strawberry
yogurt, chicken alfredo, and a bread stick. He did very well, in fact both
bowls stayed on the tray and he used a fork and spoon most of the time.
It's amazing how fast they shoot up and become independent little $h!t'$!

Yep, this is SPIDERGIRL. Shane picked out the name....even though it is a boy! It's will always be a girl to Shane for some reason. He has been asking for a new pet since we gave Hagen to a new home. This will call it for good I hope.

A Geo-Cashing Day w/ Gma & Papa

What we thought was Earth Day, we headed to Tontiquint Park on this day. Earth Day was actually the following weekend. But we still had a lot of fun. We did a few geocashings with Gramma & Papa Ron. Treasure hunting is what Shane would call it and he did get a few treasures! A $$DOLLAR$$ bill was left by someone before us. You get to take what is in there as long as you put something back in for the next person to find. We meet up later with Melissa and her kids and walked around the nature center for a little bit. They have some ducks in a pond along with hundreds of white, orange, and black koi (or goldfish). It was a ton of fun!

Easter Weekend Pictures

We had a wonderful time out at the Hurricane
Sand Dunes. Saturday brought lots of wind, but
Sunday was a ton of fun. The Easter Bunny came
and visited the boys (well dropped off hidden eggs
anyway)! Lots of fun and both of the boys love it
out there. It was Kody's 1st ride in the Rhino in his
own car seat, rather than me carrying him. He also
figured out what sand/dirt was. At 1st he wouldn't
even touch it.

Spring Time Fun at the Park

Fun day at the park! Shane is just monkey'n around and Kody is doing the cool baby thing. Hidden Valley Park is just a little bit from our house. We haven't done the bike ride to get there, but a few minutes in the car and we are in heaven. Amazing park! There are lots of playground equipment with slides, nets, rock boulder to climb, and a water park play area. We can't wait for the warm weather to return so we can go splash around. There is a sand volleyball court, lots and lots of grass, and full size basket ball court too!

After snow in February we have been itchin' for some warm weather. Now that it's March we officially have our shorts out! In this picture Shane and I are gearing up for our "BIG Climb" call me crazy but I need the extra exersise if I am gonna keep up with the boys this summer.

Kody went down for an afternoon nap. Shane and I grabbed our sunny's and some purple Gatorade to begin out trip. To set the story off correct, every day on the way home from daycare and work we pass a big water tank on the way home. Not too far from our house. In fact. you can see the water tank from our drive way. Shane says "Hey mom, I want to climb to the top of the hill and get to the tank!" After many days, months, and cool weather today was the day I took him up on his wish.

Here is a snap shot of the work ahead of us. We are at the bottom of our drive way as we head off for the big adventure. Up the street to the cross walk and past the two churchs we begin our big mission. Shane was excited of course and was pratically pulling me to get there fast. Hand in hand we had a mother son bond. For the first time in many months it was just me and Shane. He thought that was "So Cool" and said "I love you, Mom." This hill as Shane began to call it, was begining to look and feel like a mountian to the both of us. But we had a mission, remember? We kept on a going.

"See, we made it this far mom!" Shane kept saying. Gotta love the little guy for keeping mom motivated. We were both a huffin and a puffin! But it didn't take Shane long to want to go home. After resting for about 5 minutes and refueling with some Gatorade he really did want to finish.

Whew.....we finally arrived. What a beautiful view from way up here. "You can see forever, Mom! Even Papa Ron's mountian!" Pine Valley Mountian is Papa's mountian in words of Shane. He has called it that for several years. Shane loved every minute of our "BIG CLIMB" but ask him if he wants to go again! :) He will tell you that it was fun, but doesn't want to do it again! I guess we will have to find a new hill to climb. Below are a few more pics from the top looking down at our house and others from our trip I am sure the both of us will not forget.

See.....we do get snow in Sunny St. George. Notice todays date (February 3rd)?? Yeah, that's when mother nature likes to play games on us here where it's supposed to be sunny and warm. It snows at the oddest times of the year. Waits until almost spring and then suprises us with white stuff! It was about 6:30 pm when Shane and I went outside and made the body of a snow man. With all good intentions of finishing him up in the morning with a hat, eyes, and a carrot for a nose. I am sure he will be melted come morning, but Shane was SO cold and we just couldn't finish him up! I guess he knows why dad doesn't like the snow now! His little fingers were red and stinging he said. We went in side to warm up and made some hot chocolate to drink. Then he wanted to go back out side to play some more.

Kody's ears are fixed!

After battling many months since August of nasty colds and ear infections, Kody may have new ears and we may also have a happier baby! Today Kody went in for surgery to have tubes put in both of his ears. He went in at 7:15 am this morning and was back home by 9:30 am. Most of the time was sitting around waiting. Not a fun time for Kody during the wait. He was hungry! He didn't get his midnight feeding. (He has never missed a meal.) It was a breeze for the surgery. It only took 10 minutes. He was pretty groggy when he was coming out of the sleeping gas, and was ready for a bottle. We hope now we are on our way to sleeping through the night and a happy baby.

Amazingly Santa found his way to the Dennison's house! Shane got his dream bike "Hot Wheels" and Kody a bike too! Both boys must have been good little boys cause they each got what they wanted. No early morning wake ups in our house, but I am sure next year could be earlier than today. We actually had to wake Shane up! After a 1/2 hour of unwrapping, we were done and ready to play with all the toys.

It is December! No snow in sunny St. George, but it is almost Christmas time. Our two boys are ready for Santa to visit and have both been very good boys. They went and visited Santa at the mall and told him what they wanted for Christmas. Shane actually liked Santa this year and told him all the stuff he wanted. He asked to go back to see him every day for a week. Shane wants a new two wheeler bike (Hot Wheels)and many other toys. Kody wants a stand up walking toy i think (WINK)!

Kevin has been very busy with work around the house. Among his many projects, he has installed a new garage door opener (I broke a sping one day while opening it), a new garage door to the outside of the house off from our garage, and rearranged the garage with new shelving and more space to get everything in there. He is still finishing up our front yard landscaping. It will look soo much better than the dirt we had last summer. We even cut down the BIG tree in the front yard! More pictures to come later.
